New C.Sharps 1874 Hartford
« on: January 31, 2017, 09:58:14 PM »
It's an outstanding day today! My C. Sharps Hartford was delivered. They did an excellent job, the fit and finish is perfect.   When I originally ordered the rifle in early December. I spoke with a gunsmith.  I also spoke with him a few times later prior to delivery. He was always very helpful and knowledgeable. Everyone I talked with at C. Sharps was extremely helpful and pleasant. Outstanding experience from start to finish.

Gorgeous! Is that a "Quigley" look-alike with the patchbox?

If so, you did the right thing by ordering it in 45-70. That will prevent another good rifle from winding up on the block in short order.

It's a beautiful gun.  I'm not jealous...  Well, maybe a little jealous.  OK, when I see pictures like this, it's all I can do to not sell a car or something and drive to Montana.  Very nice!

Beautiful rifle! I've been wanting one from them. That didn't seem like too bad of turn around time.

First time I went through Big Timber, I didn't realize that both C.Sharps and Shiloh were on opposite sides of the same street!

I conducted my business at C.Sharps, only noticing Shiloh on my way out of town. I went to Shiloh on my next trip to town.

I've only owned one C.Sharps rifle, a '75 Business rifle in 45-70. Foolishly, I sold it. It had an excellent barrel and shot like a hot damn.

Both makers make fine products. You pays you money - you takes you choice.

Nice rifle it will treat you good, I have a C Sharps Hartford in 45-70 and have been very satisfied with its performance. The guys I shoot with have both C Sharps and Shiloh from 45-90 to 45-120 and I am just as accurate out to 800 yards at the range. We just located a spot where we can shoot out to 1,000 yards, when the snow melts and the weather straightens out we will see. Congratulations on a beautiful 74. ;D

The cartridge belt is from Texas Jacks and the sheath is from Dixie Gun Works.
