When I joined the GAF it was primarily a cowboy action shooting organization with uniforms and I had never shot a cowboy match. I was primarily a reinactor/living historian but had shot some BPCR. The GAF has evolved over the years. We still are an action shooting organization, but we have a format that is all our own.

The Grand Muster is a match that participants say truly needs to be experienced to be fully appreciated. It combines the action match with long range (out to 300 Yds.) and a precision pistol match. I've borrowed ideas from CAS, 3-gun, and the Bushnell Brawl to create a unique match using Victorian military firearm's. I really believe the only way you'll regret it is if you don't come

OK, maybe I'm bragging, but you have to admit it's a good draw, good shoot, good food, good friends and corn whiskey in Green Gatorade if you want. ::)

All true!  As Al once said sitting by the fire, "Where else can you dress in authentic 19th Century uniforms and discuss classic Bugs Bunny cartoons?!"

Okie, it all sounds a bit Rah Rah, but  you really need to see and shoot this match to understand what we're trying to do.  And we keep the tin foil jar heads under close watch . . .  (one must admit they are entertaining.)
