I just heard from Dave's son.  Dave passed today at 8:00 am. I will post arrangements as soon as I receive them.  Dave was a dear friend, a true sportsman and a joy to be around. I can still hear his laugh. He was at this year's Berger Memorial as usual and we talked about getting together at the convention.  Guess we'll have to wait awhile before we're together again.  Go with God my friend.

I am so very sorry to hear this. We were just cutting up and having fun at the Eastern Regional not long ago. Dave was always a joy to be around.

Dave was a great friend, brother Mason and good companion.  I always looked forward to seeing him at the Nationals, Convention or the Berger.  I   think the only Berger Memorial he missed was the mud shoot and that was because of the weather.  The weather was so bad he couldn't drive or fly.  I will miss him.

A man who truly lived up to his alias! I met him during "Cowboy Clays" at my first trip to the National Shoot in Evansville. A fine competitor with either a long range rifle or a scattergun in his hands. What I will remember most about Dave Lee however was his sly smile when asked if he was "feelin deadly",  and the fact that he made a derby look good!

R.I.P.  (there sure is a fine posse formin up on the other side!)
It is far better to remain silent, and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt!

Sad to hear we lost another brother Mason. Dave was was someone we all enjoyed being around.  Hiram's Rangers will be a bit less without him.

I will miss Dave deeply.  He was a true friend, a Gentleman's Gentleman, and a fun competitor.  His passing leaves a hole in our organization and in our hearts.

Saddened to hear this. Dave and I would always talk whenever we met. His big smile will be missed.

Sad news indeed.  I enjoyed robbing trains with Dave during his Indiana days.  Always looked forward to joining him for breakfast at the conventions. Vaya con Dios, Amigo.

One of the many memories I have of Deadeye is how much he relished the Poker games Charlie and Peavine would organize at the big NCOWS events.

He always had a twinkle in his eye and an easy smile. He was enjoying himself immensely.

Vaya con Dios.
