I've been shooting ROA's for quite a while, but really wanted something a little smaller and "handier". I found a heck of a sale on 1860 Army's at EMF (Pietta's) and bought a pair. I took them to my local gun surgeon and had the internals hardened and tuned, and the Ruger coil spring and plunger modification for the hand spring. Finally, I put a set of Slix Shot cones on them.
I took them to the range today, and they functioned perfectly. I put about 50 rounds through each revolver and not a single cap jam. They were also very accurate and the sights well regulated - perfect for windage, and about 2" high. With a charge of 25 or 30 grains of Olde E and a round ball, I was able to put them into one "smear" at CAS distances and consistently hit a plate at 50+ yards.
I are a happy camper!
