Tomorrow promises mild weather, sunshine and light winds.  So, I'm going to sit in my ground blind with the little propane heater, comfortable chair and round side table with some fresh brewed coffee sitting there in my insulated mug.  Perhaps Mr. Bambi will stumble out, stand broadside and hold still while I kill him with my front stuffer.  Then again, maybe not.  Either way I'll benefit from the distance from the already increasing winter blues.

I'll have a good book at my side to read and some serene silence to enjoy.  It's a win/win situation.

Ho Hellgate,

Winter's here and I'm trying to keep from looking like Moby Dick.  Activity on my game cameras has slowed.  The does are yarded up and the bucks are shedding their horns.  We do have some venison in the freezer.  Took one with BP.  Tonight my bride is making Zucchini Goulash with venison hamburger.  I married a good cook.

My wife didn't grow up on venison like me but she's a keeper. I've eaten and made a lot of venison goulash. Love the stuff. Chili & meatloaf too. Lived in Montana. You could get one elk tag and two deer tags (one for a mulie & one for a white tail). With mom thats two elk & 4 deer in the larder each year. Dad never shot a bull elk 'cause "you can't eat horns". I'd sure shoot that white tail on your camera though. He'll be bigger next year.
