Somewhere I saw a post by Prof. Marvel about using a 50/50 vinegar and hydrogen peroxide mix for bore cleaning.
I am not too sure about using it to clean a bore. I use it to clean the power residue and lead from the baffles on a .22LR suppressor. It does a great job dissolving the lead but the resulting product is lead acetate which is very toxic. From what I can “google” peracetic acid is pretty strong stuff and is corrosive to steel. The parts in the baffles are a high quality stainless and are not affected. It will, however, dissolve aluminum and I understand and will remove bluing.
If you search you tube for “the dip” you can find out more information. I use it only on the .22LR suppressor and nowhere else.
