Spencer Carbine

I got a new Spencer Carbine a come months ago. I have never been able to get the removable tubular magazine with out using a screwdriver to get it past magazine catch spring.

If possible take off the butt plate.  You will see that he spring that secures the small ball-like catch is attached with one screw.  Assuming its not rusted in place you can put a very thin shim between the spring and the but plate.  DON'T attempt to stretch out the spring.
