Good morning all.

Oatmeal up for those so inclined, with left over bacon as a side.

Up at 0530 today, though that doesn't mean I'm happy about it.  I'm starting to get up that early to train myself for when I have to get up early in another time zone.  However, neither the family nor the canine understand what it means to be quiet before 10:30. ::)

PE, we usually don't have any, but my mother bought four pounds this month to use a pound each week for sandwiches and potato soup, but it got put in the back of the freezer, and then she told me to cook it all last night.  ::)

In other news, My backside is reminding me that it has been a while since I sat upon a saddle.  Went out to do some riding before I leave.  But, even with the semi-bruised buttocks it was more enjoyable than the alternative: washing dishes.  ::)

Spent most of the day cleaning out a car ports drainage gutters. Probably hadn't been cleaned for quite a few years. they were almost 4 inches deep and were stuffed to the top :P

Temps in the high 80's today ::)

Well, if I had cooked 4 pounds at one time, there might be a little left over.

Morning y'all.
Coffee and iced tea are ready.

Rained overnight,

'Tis 64 and overcast. "Cooler. Cloudy. Periods of showers in the morning...Then scattered showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 70s. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 80 percent."

Afternoon all.

Per my cellular device, it is 87 in town.  Per my porch thermometer, it is 100.  I'm inclined to agree with the porch.

Canned 11 quarts of beans, there's more out there, but it rained about 2pm, just when I was going out to pick. There were a lot that got too mature while we were gone, so had to shell some, would have been a lot more otherwise. Will deal with the cucumbers this evening.

Made a drastic decision today, or figured something out, no eating pizza on the spur of the moment, must take Priosec (Generic for Larry the Cable Guy's purple pill)  2-3 hours before.  Seems to be the only thing that bothers me, was sicker than a dog all day, again, it's pizza, been keeping track.

Spent most the day doing files on the tablet, selecting and editing pictures, and down-loading recipes/docs, when I'm done I can do some really serious lessons in camp cooking off of it.

Prilosec OTC is a very good product , I use it  it shut off or retards the formation of gastric acids, which is source of the  Gastroesophageal reflux GURD.
It's BBQ ribs that will set mine off sometimes ,  it seems  Domino Pizza has done it too ...just Domino's though   ::)  simple enough abstain ( crappy pizza anyway )

But for BBQ I'll take the Prilosec , works for about a week per pill for me.... :)

Slim, which fair are you prepin' for?

We had a couple of day of 100, but the windows staid open and the air off.  Came close to butting up and going to the AC, but still haven't kicked that AC cough.  The house has only gotten to about 85 during most of the heat.

Supposed to be slacking off to about 90 next week for Hot August Nights (our big classic car show) that runs from Tuesday through next Sunday.  May go out and drool over all the stuff I wish I had (No, can't drool, these guys have big feather dusters to keep any particulates off their babies and they don't taste good).

The sky is rather hazy because of the various brush fires around us.  Most is coming from a fire around Big Sur.  Guess the cars will only get a dusting, unlike the thunderstorms and wind they had last year.

Prepping salmon steaks for the grill for supper tonight.  Having our house/cat sitter over as a thank-you.

Hey y'all.

We're getting some of that smoke up here too, Russ.  The difference is, we don't have a car show.  ::)

The weather has climbed past 105 all week, and is likely to continue into next week. :o  We've lost a rabbit and a literally dozens of cars are overheating on the highways.   The tow truck drivers are running 24/7.
