Holy shimolians, another one has slipped by; it's almost the middle of the year already, not getting dark here until after 2030.

We're going into Summer methinks, had a few days when it's poked 100 or actually made it somewhere in the general area.  Days are scattered clouds, breezes from time to time, and warm.  Here it is 0036 and it's still 83 outside.

PE, your comment in the last post of May reminded me of a funny experience a friend and I had years ago.  My friend is a general contractor, and I was an electrical contractor sub-contracting to do his electrical work on custom homes and remodels.  On most remodel jobs, we had to work around the families who lived in the house, so many times, the Lady of the house would be doing her household business while we were banging away on stuff.  On one job, I had a question about the placement of a light fixture, and asked the Lady of the house about it, and John, my friend, was in on the conversation.  Now both of us wear beards, often quite long and full, and long hair.  So we were talking, and I rubbed my beard with the hand I had been using to grease some connectors, and got grease in my whiskers, so I took a cloth and was wiping it out of my beard, and she was standing there just staring at me.  She finally turned to John and asked: "How do you wash your beards?"  John and I both laughed, and he said "shampoo?".  She had the most amazed look on her face, and I am not sure she really believed him  Having worn a beard most of my life - I had to shave before I was thirteen, and had a full beard when I was a junior in high school - it just is part of the drill.

Well, I am sort of in night shift mode, but I am going to try to go to bed soon so I can live like, as one of my doctors puts it, a normal person.

Later.

Morning y'all.
Coffee is hot.

Rained a bunch overnight. Ditches are full.

'Tis 58 and overcast. "Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers in the morning... Then partly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent."

Thanks for the coffee.

Del...I've worked in pulp/paper and the chemical ndustry since 1985.  Safety rules haven't allowed me to grow a beard since 1986.  A couple of years ago, I got a job that didn't require me to shave.  I've pretty much kept a goatee or a beard since the new job.  Plus, I've been to the barber once in the past year and a half.  That was last month, and I just had my neck line cleaned up, and about 1/8 to 1/4" cut off the ends in the back.  This is longest my hair has ever been.  My favorite wife (Wife 2.0) is hoping that I'll get it cut after the Muster.  I will, it just may be a year or more after that!

So very true, Del, I used to have a few victims - ah, I mean liberal leaning friend types, but most of them have decided I am a bit too scary for their tastes.

Nother warm one today, 100 on my patio this afternoon, right at 90 now; otherwise, SSDD.

Miss Bella has decided that she doesn't need to go to school any more this year, and her folks agree; so we have her all day, now, and really need to find something for her to do besides play Minecraft and mess about on her computer.  School is, for all intents and purposes, done for the Summer, they say that they have closed the grading period, and the kids are just there to ride out the tail end of the prescribed period.  I don't quite understand that, but I guess that's why I am a grandfpa and not a mom or dad.  What the H377 am I gonna do with a twelve going on seventeen year old girl all summer?  I know, not your problem, and I apologize for squawking so much, but I am completely flummoxed over this.  I use to be able to put her in the truck, load food and drinks, and go for day trips, and she enjoyed it; but she seems to have outgrown that or something.  :-\ :-\ :-\

Oh, well..  Gonna try for an earlier night tonight.

Never buy blend, it likely only had 10% of the good stuff.

Roo, is that you!?!  How the 4377 are you?  It's good to hear from you.

We have an excessive heat warning in effect today, and through next week.  At 1500, it was officially 103, 6% RH, mostly sunny with a few scattered high clouds.  I was out in it this morning, and I am beat, really out of shape.

Gonna go take a nap, now.

Well, 2 days into the wife’s retirement and it seems like Saturday every morning. She did rather overdo it the first day.  Spent too much time planting flowers and was a little stiff yesterday, so she took a retirement day from retirement the rest of the day.

The cats are really confused having her around so much.

Supposed to break 90 today (warmer tomorrow). Got to mow the hay field this afternoon (grass is growing like a weed). No rain for the next 10 days.  Glad the sprinkler system came online with no major repairs needed this year.

Farmer’s market starts tomorrow, so I have to go check for corn to go with the brats on the grill.  Doing grilled cod tonight.
