I had a great day with my family exploring the historic Blackstar Canyon and explaining to my daughter how blessed we are to have been given such a wonderful country and to especially be thankful to our military veterans and those who gave their last full measure to safeguard our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. May we find the wisdom and courage to maintain this beautiful gift that was purchased with the blood of so many as well as the broken lives of the bereft.
To each of our sleeping heroes, thank you for your service and sacrifice. It is a debt none of us can ever repay. May the loss of our honored dead compel us to live more worthwhile lives, have more love and understanding for friends and families, be devoted to our children, and always strive to be better brother and sister Americans.
