I was pretty sure that was a close as you could get, right at 200 miles.

I think it's funny how they have the standard, international sign for an airport there in Sargent, the one with the outline of a jet. Always thought an outline of a Stearman would be more appropriate.

Most folks today wouldn't understand that, PE.

Thanks for the cuppajoe, folkses.  Got an early start (0630) this morning for some unknown reason, wife says I am acting like a normal human bean for a change.  I wonder if I will let the day get away like usual.

This morning is a beautiful Spring morning; bright blue sky, clear (can't see any clouds from my window), calm, about 70 degrees.  However; the weather prognosticators are saying there will, with a capital will, be strong winds starting around noon, and continuing for a couple of days, with the remote possibility of some precipitation, as well; temps to be moderated by said wind.  That's all great in favor of the moderation, but with the wind blowing at 40 to 60 mph, we have to keep the house closed up tight to avoid dust and destruction, so, have to run the air conditioning around the clock.  We're going to have to do that soon enough, what with summer being just around the corner, but it would be nice to be able to take advantage of some nice Spring weather for a while.  Oh, well........

Daylight is a-burnin', gotta go see what else I can get into.

Later.

Good news, I have 20 pounds of roller ground rye flour (50/50 ratio with white)  with my name on it at Frank's in Wilbur to pick up June 3rd on the way to RCS, roller ground light rye flour is as scarce as can be, the Saline County Czechs came through, it may be the only place in the country that still produces it.

Reminds me of a favorite local joke:

What do the keep in the basement of the Saline County Courthouse?

Only 50's and rain today :P

have the keys to the kingdom this weekend. Got to be dog catcher, had a pit/boxer mix loose in the park. Calls up the kazoo about this big dog running loose in the park. finally got a sight on it and at least id'ed it as a male, choker collar, no tags. got within a foot and a half, but he wouldn't let me get his collar.Knew he wasn't a dog from the park, but took me a while to remember that he's been in here before and belonged to place over across Fohl road from us. Couldn't get hold of the other maintenance guy who knew where the house was. Finally remembered  how he got the info and went to that source. people weren't home. Got a call about 4 this afternoon that two girls had got hold of the dog and it was at the office. Finally took it over there ::)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

Well as for neighborhood happenings I also have another strange one, Friday night there was a boom, then fire trucks. Turns out there was a gas explosion 3 blocks away, news said the lady lived there is in the burn ward, blew shingles off the roof and moved the house off the foundation.

OK, news said it was in the basement, and was caused by cat poop piling up on the gas line and the ammonia deteriorating the gas line. My guess it was the brass fitting, not the line because ammonia destroys the crystal structure of the brass/copper bond in the alloy of the same materials we call brass.

If they try to put it on a missile, no telling how many fish it might kill when it crashes into the sea 50 miles after it launches(like most of their previous missile tests) "It didn't crash, that's what we programmed it to do" ::)

Good evening - as Alfred Hitchcock used to say it.  I'm sitting here with a cup of this mornings leftover mud.

Nuttin' goin' on in this neck of the woods, to speak of; just the weather, my aches and pains - which I avoid talking about too much - the "Kid", traffic, and so on.

Our weather is flaky; one day it will be nice, next, it'll be un-nice. It's windy today, and yesterday; today there is dust in the air - not dust storm dust, just haze, and it's kind of depressing for some odd reason.  But, it will change.  I think this year is going to be a strange one weather wise.

I think I'll go start thinking about what I will fix for supper.
