Thanks for the coffee, good folks.
Thunderstorms today, and a beautiful weekend forecasted.
Monthend closing at the plant, and the start a a very long and expensive shutdown for repairs and upgrades.
At the peak, we will have over 1,000 extra (contracted) employees on site.  Ugghh....the drive here is crazy enough already, and is the most dangerous thing I do is drive to work...

I'm on my second cup this morning, got off to a rip-roaring start.  Mrs. Hairy's surgery was a bust, the artery is un-fixable; so the Docs are going to re-group and make a new plan, an angiogram in a week or two to assess the other three arteries, then what the next move will be.  Mrs. called me at o-dark-thirty to come get her; she's home, now, watching her soaps.

I'm gonna go have breakfast.

Later.

Weather is supposed be great this weekend!  The wife asked about going for a ride in the new 4 Runner tomorrow.  I think we’ll go up the hill to Truckee and look at the snow.  I think she wants a chance to drive the puppy.  I’ll take it up, and she can bring it back down.

They say there is enough snow up there that they are extending the ski season at most the resorts past their normal closing dates.  Squaw Valley is hoping to stay open until the end of May.

4" so far. Guessers got it correct, again.  ::)

'Tis 32 and light sn*w. "Windy. Colder. Cloudy. Light snow in the morning...Then a chance of snow showers in the afternoon. Additional snow accumulation around 2 inches. Highs in the middle 30s. Northwest wind 20 to 30 mph. Chance of snow 80 percent."

Major

Been to Alder Creek (where 2/3s of the Donner/Reed party camped) and to Donner Lake where the other 22 souls camped.  Never seen any ghosts, but the strange monument at Donner Lake looks an awful lot like a foot stuck in the middle of a hamburger bun.   :o ::) ;D

By the way, we only went as far as Truckee, Donner is a little further up the road.  Weather was in the low 60s and the sky was severe clear.  Did a little shopping (forgot how the prices of stuff go up with the altitude).  Guess the tourists will support the community quite well.  When a bottle of beer and a glass of wine runs $19, I decided it was going to be window shopping only!  I guess that’s why it’s been about 6 years since we were up there last!  The wife got to drive the 4 Runner back, and approves of the way it handles, so I guess it’s a keeper (not that we can give it back now).

Morning y'all.
Coffee is hot.

The kids are doing the 4H play this afternoon.

'Tis 31 and cloudy. "Not as cool. Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of light rain and snow in the morning...Then a slight chance of light rain in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 50s. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 20 percent."

Mmmm, coffee good.

67, on the way to 80+, bluebirdy blue sky, slight breeze.  More to come so they say.

Glad they got some decent precip up on top this year, RustyC, undoubtedly much needed.  I remember when we still lived up there, Tahoe overflowing the weir and causing flood problems in Reno.  And to think that when we were looking at property up that way, we considered Truckee, and Serene Lakes.  Now, that idea gives me the shivers.

Y'all have a good day.

In the 30's here. Got about 2+ inches of the evil white stuff over night. Mostly stuck to the grass not the roads. And to think I was considering mowing the south part of the yard ::) :o ??? :-\

Second day of 70 degree weather.  The lawn is greening up nicely.

We stopped and had pizza and beer on the way back into town yesterday, so I’m grilling burgers for supper tonight
