She's sedated to almost a comatose state, hoses into both lungs to remove excess fluids, oxygen, antibiotics, urinary catheter modifications of her meds plus some new ones. Last time I saw that much tubing, hoses, and wires was in the carrier Ronald reagan a couple of years back.
We have some great doctors here (less money, more freedom, better conditions) and I have total confidence in the ones working on her now. When I left this morning the head nurse asked she could speak to me in the hallway. BAD NEWS, think I but no! She asked when I had eaten last, how much sleep I had gotten in the last few days and if I were hydrating properly. I told her maybe Tuesday night, probably five of six hours in the last two nights, and I didn'y know how much I had been drinking.
Then she ORDERED me to get a good meal, take a hot shower, drink all the water I could hold, and go to bed for at least four hours. She told me "I'm not a doctor so my prescriptions and orders can't be enforced, but I'll do my level best to kick your ass if you don't follow them". I asked her how she could tell. She stated very simply that she was the best nurse in Arizona and I looked like pure-dee hell.
On the way home I stopped at Taco Bell for the first time in four or five years, went home and drank the Brita gizmo dry, took a hot shower, and crashed for most of the afternoon.
Anyway, thanks to you all for the support, and when she wakes up I'll take her the print out of this thread. I appreciate it and I'm sure she will, as well..
