Howdy
I recently had a Stek knife made for hunting . I am real happy with it ,  it just feel great in your hand .

This is a Stek knife I have had for about 20 years . It's a beautiful Damascus blade that is very sharp .

Seeing as you ask, I vote for the Buffalo Hunter style in the lower photo of your Feb 22 post. Your new one seems sturdy, but perhaps a bit too blunt at the point for a utility hunter. Or, as a dagger, it's a bit short.

I had a bowie/boot knife combo made by a knifemaker formerly on this board. I passed the boot knife on to my son who is a qualified stalker in England. The spearpoint was shaped similarly to your new knife, and Sun&Air found the point too blunt for field dressing. I have thought to have the blade modified to match the Randall Trout & Bird profile.

Your pick is my field knife . It has gutted lots of Deer . It holds a good edge and sharpens back easily . If it won't shave the hair off your arm , it aint sharp enough .

Was stationed in Germany from 84 to 86 . Was a Grunt with the 1st division  D co 4th Bn 16 th Inf . Germany was a beautiful country friendly people and Great summer weather IF you don't like to sweat .

Rowdy; I was in the Brit zone NE of KOLN from'67-'70. I served in the BEST close support artillery unit in the British Army of the Rhine.

The best part of it all was 4 DM to the Yankee Dolla, and 6 weeks leave a year! it was only a two hour drive to a number of US gun clubs. We had a skeet set up just out back of my O club! The NATO Status of Forces agreement gave us the RIGHT to obtain a West German Jagtshein.

I carried my Stek knife while Turkey hunting , and yes it's still as sharp as it was before season . Oh well tomorrow starts spring squirrel season . I might use my 87 and my black powder loads to smoke out a few squirrels . Sounds like a plan . I can use my stek knife to dress out the little bushy tails .

Well the Stek knife did a great job of skinning another Deer . I have been using Stek knives for over 20 years .   I have one for my grandson  , when he's old enough to hunt he will have a great knife .

The Stek Knife did a Great job on field dressing the Deer . The wooden handles were not as slick and the stag handled knives . But that was the way I ordered it . They aren't as pretty in a display case but they work in the Field . Here is a picture of this years Deer .
