Had a weird yesterday, was sitting in the pick-up in the drive talking one my phone.  Winds had the landing pattern over out area and a big noisy one came in from the SE, phone got bad white noise and couldn't even her the other person.  Look up and with in 500 feet was a 707 type with a big rotating dome one it.   ::)   Get them once in a while in from Offutt to play tough and go on Lincoln's 11,000 feet runway.

Was telling a retired high ranking military friend about it tonight and though army he said it shouldn't do that normally unless they decided to mess with me.   LOL, would be fun and I bet he had my signal good if that was what was up.   ::)

Sitting at 41 right now, heading for 53 sunshine yesterday all but killed off the sn@w!  Still looking at a gradual warming period over the next week.

Decided to head off to our favorite Cantina in one of our local casinos for supper tonight (they have a great chimi).  That means I get a by on cooking tonight.  However I’m going to do deep dish pizza for supper tomorrow so it ends up a wash on the cooking this week.

Coffee and water are heating.  Enjoy!

The chimi at Poncho and Willies was great, and enough left over for Monday.

33 right now, headed for 60 this afternoon.  No wet stuff predicted until a week from Monday.

Had another 50th anniversary party again today. This time uptown. If I did a check, my meter would probably burn up at the moment ::) :-\

Morning y'all.
Coffee is hot.

A 1943 Smith Corona 1903-A3 followed me home from the "toy" store on Saturday. I took it all apart and cleaned it. It is in excellent condition. The stock was refinished and poly was applied. The front sight insert, rear peep sight and the trigger group have been replaced. It has a parkerized finish except fro the bolt. Someone polished it. I'll have to post some pictures.

'Tis 26 and overcast. "Cloudy. A slight chance of light snow in the morning... Then a slight chance of snow showers in the afternoon. Highs in the middle 30s. Light and variable wind. Chance of snow 20 percent."

Deep dish turned out well last night, see below.  Will have plenty leftovers for this week.

I've seen (and eaten) deep dish pizza before, but that's got to be the deepest one I've seen! Appears to be full to the top of the cast iron skillet.

Had a somewhat busy day. We found a busted water line this morning While doing rounds. Luckily we were able to use the in ground shut off to stop it. Otherwise we would have gotten a very cold shower stopping it ::) :o

After I got off, set to work doing the taxes.Took me all afternoon because I had to put in a newer OS-X version to get the Turbo Tax to work on this Mac. Now running El-Capitan instead of Snow Leopard. Great, another learning curve ::)

PE

Spent many an evening in Chicago removing evidence of deep dish pizzas from the city (many classes at the IBM Ed Center in down town).  The two I liked best were Geno’s East on Superior off of Michigan Ave. and Pizzeria Uno’s just North of the IBM building.  Been trying to get my duplicates just right since I was going there many moons ago.  This one came close!  I think it just needs a brief baking of the crust prior to adding all the cheese, sausage and pepperoni to get a lighter crispier crust.

PS. I checked the leftovers and it’s just a smidgen under 2” thick!

One more try at the crust in the indoor oven, then I’m going for the Dutch oven version this summer. Anyone that wants to come and taste it let me know, ‘cuz I might need to get a couple more Dutch ovens.

Been watching Nevada Energy remove approx. 30 cubic yards of blacktop and dirt from the street intersection at the corner of my house.  So far the gas, electric, water, internet and phone are still working!  We’ll see if that still holds as the day progresses.  ::) ::)

Looking for mid 60s today.  Slightly hazy sunshine.

Taking the night off from cooking as we still have leftover stir-fry and deep dish to finish off.
