I have 5 ASM 1860 Type I Convesions all in excellent condition. The 44 Colts are marked as such on the left side of the barrel above the wedge as it should be, but on the 38s some are marked 38 Colt and the others 38 Special. The ones marked 38 Colt are in the 3000 ser. number range. All the 38s will chamber the 38 Colt of coarse, and the 38 special, I know it does not matter, but does anyone know why they changed the lettering from the 38 Colt to 38 Special. Just wondering.
Thanks
