Kind words BRS. Not sure if it was patcience or just lazy and slow. I'll say it real quiet yes to all four calibers. No need for the .50 on Wild Hogs , have killed numbers of them with a .22 rimfire . But the .50/95 is the newest  so its the one, for the moment . In all honesty my favorite 1876 cartridge for shooting game is the 22" 40/60 wcf. It is deadly accurate , and kills like lightning ! I have put three cartridges in the magazine. I think it will hold another ? ,,,DT

Well have fun with that new casing and good luck on you hunting with it.

I does look nice.

PS:  How are you loading that cartridge?  With modern dies or do you have a Winchester plier tool for that caliber, too?

That is the only 1876 caliber /cartridge that I do not have an original tong tool/mould for. I have seen only two come up for sale over the yrs' that I have looked. The last set went for an extravegant price.  I am loading with modern dies. Still looking. ,,DT

Very nice rifle DT.  I really like the half round/half octagon barrels, especially with button mags.

I agree the Half Oct. Half Rnd. Button Mag. is one of my favorites for style, and no question about it . The 24" Short rifle handles like a carbine but looks like  rifle . The best of both . And that .50 EX out of a 24" has a thunder clap and fire ball !  Not as big looking in this pic. KM. I think I found a fellow that will do the engraving on the lid and lifter for me. The more I look at the stock's the more I think I should checker them , in the Winchester pattern.  Any Thoughts?  ,,DT

The well-known Winchester restorer Mike Hunter can actually roll stamp the 1876 dust cover with the .50 Winchester Express markings that are exactly like the originals. He did this for my Uberti 1876 Sporting Rifle in .50-95, and it is perfect, like all of his restoration work.

http://www.mikehunterrestorations.com/

Needless to say, it is necessary to send only the dust cover for the roll stamping to be done. He’ll re-blue the dust cover in the original manner, after stamping.

I don’t know if he will engrave calibre markings on the cartridge elevator, but you can enquire.

This load is shooting very well in the Express rifle. 510" .300gr. soft lead bullet over a casestuffed full and I say stuffed , with 2ff Swiss Bp. Std. Winchester primer Jammison case. She do have a thunder clap. Load slap noise on the target end also ,with these Blunts!,,,DT

60 rounds through the 50 Express rifle this morning. Cleaned  after every 5 shot's. My way of burnishing in a new barrel. Cleanup was easy and no trace of leading. The load that is working best is a 300gr. rnfp .510 dia .  Lubed with deer tallow/wax/olive oil .Jammison case filled with 84gr. 2ff Swiss Bp. Winchester primer , roll crimp. This Express rifle weigh's in at 7lb. 2 oz. With that load is has a wallop on both ends. Not a target rifle but sure nuff ' a hunting rifle. ,,,DT

Have to give a Good Word for( Winchesterbarrels .com) . They did a great job on my 50/95 wcf rebarrel. The more the old 76 with the new barrel is shot the better it shoots. Dont think that I have a barrel that cleans-up faster than the big fifty. To date the old 76 has yet to take game . It has been lifted a time or two on feral hog , but the right one has not presented itself so far. There are three giant wild spanish goats that came very close to stopping one of the big fifties bullets . But for being late in the day and a long drag out saved them ,  and me an exciting evening.  Sooner or later the right big boar will present himself , and the 50/95 will be blooded. ,,,DT

I had an opportunity to take a photograph of the dust cover of the Uberti Winchester 1876, with the .50 calibre express roll stamping by Mike Hunter. The quality of the work is truly superb.

The lettering is not actually “white”. I used an LED light to highlight the text for clarity. The specks are just dust that was also highlighted.
