New Old Stock Winchester 1892
« on: December 20, 2015, 07:09:50 PM »
Evening folks,

I've got a bead on a NOS Winchester 1892.  It appears it was made in 1998.
I'm thinking this is pre-Miroku (of which I have several and love in '73's and '86's).
Does anyone know if I should steer clear of this one if it's around $1000?
I seem to recall reading somewhere that Winchester quality wasn't all that great in the 90's, but I'm not sure.
Thanks.

"Winchester" ceased to exist long before the 1990s.  Those were the USRAC days.  In any event they weren't made by WInchester they were made by Miroku.  Winchester stopped making 92s in the 1940s.  Whether or not a used Miroku 92 is worth 1000 depends on the model and how much you want it.

Thanks for that Pettifogger.
Turns out I missed out on it.
