T'ain't cold - yet
« on: November 26, 2015, 10:45:21 AM »
Another day of -22*C temperatures with NO wind! That's downright balmy around here. With the bright sunlight, it warms up to -5C, and it's possible to work outdoors with just a Carhart vest over a long sleeved heavy shirt. I've been burning brush piles and stumps from windfalls cut for firewood.

The lake is totally frozen over which means kms of x-country skiing once we get some snow on it. In the past we've had a large snow dump before the lake properly froze and skiing was miserable as a result.

Odd thing .... it doesn't get colder than 25*C. It does, but after 25*C, it's just 'cold'. Doesn't make much difference from a practical point of view. Machinery is frozen solid, chainsaws are hard to start and if your vehicles aren't plugged in, you ain't going no where!
