We’ve had rain, sometimes mixed with a little slushy snow, ever since about 1900 Sunday. Nothing heavy and no accumulation of the slushy snow part yet.
Yesterday was like a scene from Hitchcock’s The Birds. Started off nice with about 30 quail partaking of the feed I had put out for them (they seem to be making a comeback). Then in the afternoon we were beset by a mob of about 50 large crows. They went after the seed the quail had left so I moved the tray with the food into the garage. This didn’t seem to deter the crows, as they went after all the seed the quail had kicked out of the tray. So, the wife, who is not overly fond of crows, went out with the hose and proceeded to give them a severe dowsing. They have not been back since.
