The old girl still has it in her!
« on: August 21, 2015, 06:56:56 PM »
I took my '73 carbine to the range today and shot some Lyman Ideal 427098, 40-1 bullets over 34gr of Old Eynsford 2F at 50 yards.  Using the original carbine sights and my aging eyes, I'd say the old girl still has it in her!

Chief, that is some fine shooting. What lube are you using to control fouling?

The carbine dates to 1891. But it was rebarreled by John Taylor a couple years ago. But you wouldn't know it unless you look at it very closely. John's work is outstanding.

It's not a Winchester barrel, he made it.
