When Law Was in the Holster
« on: July 21, 2015, 09:16:10 PM »
I just finished reading an excellent biography of old west lawman Bob Paul, called When Law Was in the Holster, by John Boessenecker.  Boessenecker had excerpted portions for an article in "Wild West" magazine some time ago and it was interesting enough to get me to buy the book.  I was somewhat familiar with Paul due to his connection with parts of the Earp story, particularly the Benson stage robbery, but I had no idea what an amazing life he led.  I’d rank the lifetime excitement level right up there with Bill Tilghman or Heck Thomas.  If you like to read good biographies of lawmen, like I do, I can highly recommend this one.

Just pulled up an article on this fellow. All I can say is 'wow!' what a life. Gonna pick up this book ASAP.
