The .45 Cowboy Special is simply a .45 ACP case with a .45 Colt rim.  When the original maker first marketed the brass his website said to use .45 ACP loading data.  The rights to make the brass have been sold twice.  The current website for the new company doesn't say when or if the brass will be available again nor does it list any loading data.

3.5 grains of trail Boss and a 180 grain bullet in that small case works for me. easy shooting and very light recoil.
I have read that any .45ACP lead bullet target load will work. That case is simply a .45ACP case with a ,45 Colt rim.
It is NOT a .45 ACP auto rim case. that is a different cat completely.
However it MIGHT  be possible to shave the .45 Colt cylinder a bit and re-chamber to use .45 auto rim.
Respectfully submitted

This was just posted over on the SASS wire.  No word about empty brass.  Hopefully it will follow.

45 Auto Rim load data also works well in this case. We tried 160gr bullet for smokeless, and 150gr Big Lube EP-UG with 3f BP, however we got better results with a heavier bullet. Both Heather and I prefer a 200gr bullet with this case......4.3gr Red Dot, or...................18gr 3f ;) Lowered the front sight on a pair of GWII about an 1/8", works good now with Cowboy 45 Special or 45 Colt. Good Luck :)

Three grains of TB, and a 454 round ball works for me.
