He's BAAAAACK!!!!!
Hokay. For the Esteemed Kroker of Chroes. IF one is shooting Pietta 51s, 52s, 61s or 60s, Slix for Pietta will fit and will work well. It
Would seem, in their indomitable wixdome, Pietta elected to make EVERYTHING on the basic '51 frame. This standard-ized ALL the
important dimensions throughout their line. ALL the barrels, cylinders, Grips, internal parts, hammers, screwdrivers, fit all the
different guns. Really makes it simple for Gunplumbers. Also makes it really really fun for kit bashers like me. I can mix and match
parts all day to create all manner of FRANKENPISTOLS that look and perform really awesome. I digress. SO:
If one is shooting Pietta, and use Pietta Slix, the outcome will be harmonious.
Other brands, makes, labels, such, may not be so ......... user friendly. I haven't messed with the "others." No need to. If it ain't broke,
don't fix it.
Now, since UBERTI tends to follow the actual dimensions of the Colt line, What works on a 51, may not work onna 49, or a 60. Stuff like
that. This basically means, if you buy Slix or Treso for Uberti, that will fit and work on Uberti built '51s, '61s, and '60s. Not so much
anything else in the line. Oh, and incidentally, if your hankering for a 2d Gen Colt to play CAS well, Slix for Uberti slide right into a 2d
Gen Colt (which actually is a Uberti).
When you visit various venders of valorous versions of the variety of STUFF we use, note please, the mostly list thread pitch, number of
threads per inch or per mm without mentioning the actual (if any) firearm they will fit. I find that to be a nuisance.
I'm getting long winded again. It boils down to .....
Caveat Emptor. Watch yer Butt. Lots of pretty stuff out there that doesn't work for beans.
