Spencer serial numbers
« on: April 29, 2015, 02:00:56 PM »
I have another one of those serial number requests. I picked these up about 12 years ago. One I used for Civil War reenacting but retired it when it started to show wear. I replaced it with a reproduction. The other had been refinished at one time and it kept it in the safe.

1. 20557 - My SRS books show a serial #20556 Spencer Carbine issued to Company M, 12th Illinois Volunteer Cavalry on March 1, 1864 . . . pretty close, huh,  :o :o

2. 35558 - My SRS Books show two serial #s 35429 & 35618 Spencer Carbines issued to Company I, 3rd Michigan Volunteer Cavalry in June of 1865 . . . best I can give you with that serial # 35558.

Thanks for the help.
