Except it started on April 14th 1860, so that makes it 155 from where I stand.

Rider coming in!

From 2008 at Rock Creek Station, a demo about a week before the full reride, we had some of them hanging around so they did demos.

Thanks for posting the pictures, Delmonico. No matter how many times I read accounts of the Pony Express, I am surprised at how short a period they were actually in operation. As a (retired) High School history teacher, I was always pleased when we received a new textbook to work with and the story of the Pony Express was still included. If you have any experience with "Education" these days, you'll understand the point.

Yeah, I understand some places it don't exist.  Some places it does, going to Hollenburg Pony Express Station about 70 miles from me, (next one closer to St. Joe from Rock Creek)  the want me to come down and demo, going to make breads and my friend is gonna make apple butter and rope.

They are going to bring school kids in for the day.

Well if your friends can't pick on you, who can, helps I'm right near a stretch of the old line and do things at a couple of the places stations were, btw the stagecoach in the one picture belongs to the Pony Express museum in Marysville Kansas, right close also.
