Just got back from a couple of weeks up in Oregon, so I'm a little late on the birthday wishes, but  here they are!!

I hope enjoyed yourself in Oregon. I always enjoy going to the Pendleton Roundup.

Have not made it to Pendleton yet.  The closest we got this trip Portland.  We have friends in Florence, so we are right on the coast.

 We spent most of our time cruising up and down 101 hugging the coast.  Did get to see a large number of elk down in the southern extent of or travels.  We’ve gone to this preserve once before, but this time the elk were showing off the fact they are doing quite in that part of Oregon

The northern part, of our trek was capped off by an afternoon at a local brewpub and restaurant.

The nice part was we got back to our friend’s house to get a good night’s rest before setting off again.

Russ, that is a wonderful drive. We fly into Portland and drive up to Pendleton. Moose likes to stop at the wineries and sample their different wines. She is the wine expert of our family. I'm a Beer and Whiskey man myself.

Considering I was born and raised  in Wisconsin, beer is in my blood, along with brandy (I’ve been told that Wisconsinites consume more brandy than any other  state.  Used to go to Chicago on a regular basis and would ask for a “Brandy Manhattan Rocks” and they would say “You’re from Wisconsin aren't  your?”

Don’t know why  the wine crept in there (could be the friends in Florence used to live in the Napa/Sonoma  wine region and we spent a few years visiting them there).

We really enjoyed the Drive along the River, the Trees, and the Mountains.
