Jacketed bullets are so archaic, plus I hate to taint the bores of my revolvers with copper
So far I've stayed with Keith style, non-HP SWC's, but have cast and shot quite a few HP's:
Wasn't trying to emulate flesh, but was curious as to how well the bullets would expand and penetrate. I found it interesting that the bullet with the small HP lost its nose and the pieces but penetrated quite deep. Conversely, the bullet with the penta-style HP cavity penetrated not as deep, but had the pieces of the nose that stayed in the water jug, similar top the performance I've experienced with Nosler Partitions.
Some of the moulds are available with as many as four different HP pins so using certain alloys and styles of HP's, one can practically mould bullets that will expand however they choose.
Even if a fella doesn't cast, some of the commercial casters are now making HP bullets available.
