I guess I missed this as an original thread. Sir, you did a very nice job on that scabbard.
I wanted to make a scabbord just like that after seeing the first one in Packing Iron on page 167. It was not identified as a Meanea but I really liked the shape. I intended to make a plain one with some general bordering for my original 1873 Win. The closest I came was to aquire enough leather; create a photo copy enlargement of the pattern from the book; and paste the overall length together. Basing sizing off the rifle wrist and stock measurements. That is where I had to stop because of not knowing how much fold to add for thickness. I think I have lost track of the photocopy enlargement after all this time also (darn).
Can I ask -- how or where you got your sized pattern for this old shape?
