Thanks for posting Two Flints. That brings me back to the first time I layed eyes on a Spencer carbine. It was in fact the Indian scout picture featured in the article. In the early 70's I was camping in the Lava Beds Natl. Mon., exploring the ice caves and Capt. Jacks stronghold. Looking through the displays at park headquarters I spied that strange looking carbine with the perch belly and Sharps hammer. After researching it, I had to have one. I finally found a well used, but intact one in Shotgun News. I always dreamed of someday shooting it. Many years later, thanks to the S&S breach block my dream was realizsed and my Spencer, no longer a wall hanger became my favorite shooter. JW
