Finally...
« on: February 14, 2015, 11:50:10 AM »
Back in 2000 when S&W started building the Schofield I really wanted one.  New house and new kid precluded one at the time, and then multiple deployments got in the way.  By the time I had the dough and the time, S&W had quit building them.  Now, I love my Uberti, but I finally found one of the S&W's.  Unfired w/ the original box and all the paperwork from a nice man down in AL.
The value of the pistol is about to go down precipitously, as I am going to shoot her right away ;D

Unlike the Uberti's, you will find the S&W's are pure sex in your hand. Don't let the women know about that box of love. Happy VD day brother!

... And the value of my S&W Performance center Schofield has gone way down- She shoots better than I can hold her.  The S&W is a lot tighter (read easier to bind up) than my Uberti.  Tougher to break down, but I needed to do it, as I doubt it has ever been disassembeld to the basic.  I'm going to put some gun grease on the center pin and shoot another 50 out of her tomorrow.  Hoo- aughh!

... and while I'm trying to figure out how to get from the camesra to the card reader to here.
Is it the group size that is in question, or the pistol itself? ???

What group size?

Nah...  everybody wants to see some gun porn.  Like pictures with the action open and closeups of the grips.   :o

Forget the pix of targets.  Anybody can create targets with small groups on them.   ::)

BTW, are both your Schofields 45s?

My Uberti's are 45 and 44-40.  They've got hammer springs from Italian dump trucks but one shoots so accurate if I posted a pix of it's targets nobody would believe them.  The other doesn't get shot much at all.  In fact, neither has been shot in a year or so.  Think I'll take 'em out next trip to the range.  Thanks for the impetus.

Matt45;
Being the nice fellow that I am, I'd be happy to post pictures for you.  Just sent me the gun for photographs and EXTENSIVE testing and I'll be happy to help you out.

No problem- If I was you, I'd head right to your mailbox and wait- It'll get there, I promise ;)  Litl Red, both of mine are 45's, as is my Henry.  Supposedly it was a cost savings measure, as I had a 94 Trapper and a Blackhawk.  I then went and spent all the saved money on Schofield brass ::)

As for pictures if you Google "photo bucket" and create a free account. I bought a card reader that put your SanDisk in and put stick that in your computer from there you can send the pictures to your Photo Bucket account.

Then you go to Cas City and start a reply. On the bottom left you'll see "additional Options" click "attach" and "Choose File" then you can add the attachment from Photo Bucket.
Believe me your probably no more "computer challenged" than I am.

At one time I owned six of the S&W Schofields.  Purchased two for SASS, and really enjoyed shooting them . . . had Slim Jim Holsters made for them, and everytime I saw one available for purchase in a gun shop . . . just bought it and hoped my wife would not divorce me when I brought another home.

But, over the years sold four of the S&W Schofields and now have two left . . . one unfired and the other fired only a few times.  Tried to sell them last month with all my leather accessories, but pulled the ads . . . just wasn't ready to let them go . . . at least not yet!

Lightening the mainsprings on a breaktop Smith must be done carefully, as the heavy hammer helps hold the gun closed against recoil...  I have an original S&W Russian that needs two thumbs to cock.

...and the link will work.
I like the looks of a white or ivory grip on the Schofield.  In this case, these are made by Charlie Spressor out of Eastern Tennessee.  The material is Sambar Stag, and I'm making a plug for him.
I'll try to get a group size posted tommorrow ;)
