The kid in me , just never grew out
« on: January 12, 2015, 06:07:19 AM »
A recent find, took me back to the old neighborhood anytown in the west, Dodge, Abilene, Tombstone didn't matter...
This was my side arm (photo) in countless shoot outs & Indian raids.... :)

It's no wonder then, so many years hence my main match is this Richards & I just purchased this SAA.

The old Hubley set me on a path on 1860 conversion love and Nickle & Ivory's charm   :)

I had a similar one as a kid and guess it affected me in the same way. Who wants to grow up? I am having more fun now playing with all the neat toys for real(well, almost) at all the Cowboy matches. Life couldn't be any better--at least until I get the next new gun!!

Oh man!  Memories!  Had something similar as well as a compliment of Fanner .50's.

I had a Fanner 50 plus the mares leg, cavalry carbine, and belt buckle derringer, but I never saw one of that 1960 type Hubley until a few years ago!  Very cool!

One of my favorites was like an over-under derringer but it was a full-size pistol.  You rotated the barrels from top to bottom, and it had a plastic dagger that you could slide forward from between the barrels.  But the barrels broke off at the hinge poiint and I was heart-broken  :(
