165 gr TCFP cowboy #12
« on: January 08, 2015, 03:58:56 PM »
I load Missouri Bullet Co. Cowboy #13 in my SBH for general use.  What could I expect if I was to load the 165 gr #12 instead ?  I use 7.0 gr. of Universal powder.  What would this particular bullet be good for ?  Thanks, Jerry

Generally speaking, lighter bullets will have higher velocity and may impact lower than a heavier bullet, depending on the firearm and load.  Lighter will also have less recoil.  And compared to the 240gr #13, possibly less long range accuracy due to less contact surface with the barrel rifling.
