'73 Winchester at 300 meters by Space Cowboy

aka capandball

I recently found this on his channel. ;D
Space Cowboy, Thank you for the video! Awesome!

Historically speaking, back in 1875, Winchester claimed that it's new '73 Winchester was effective and accurate to 500-600 yards. In the 1890's, Winchester recommended it for deer and bear out to 300 yards.

Back in 2011, I did some testing at 300 meters using b.p. ammunition, but I was using a 4X scope since my aging eyes can't see small targets over iron sights that well anymore.

Previous to that, when I was a bit younger, after reading the 1875 Winchester catalog claim,  I tried my  '73 short rifle at 500M.  I was using smokeless ammunition at that time. I need to try that again with b.p.   Perhaps in 2015.......

Interestingly, the 30 Swiss FFFG is pushing that 240 gr. bullet to 1,180 f.p.s. (my testing).
Since it has a higher ballistic coefficient than the standard 200 gr. (1,300 f.p.s.), both bullets arrive at 300
at about the same velocity  (850 f.p.s. or thereabouts).
