Cimarron Frontier Six-Shooter

Has Cimarron stopped carrying this model? I am under the impression it is the only model offered in the US finish.

Ah, have you considered calling Cimarron??  We can speculate all day but Cimarron can actually answer the question.

Still listed.  Basically just a Model P with the U.S. Finish.

I do wish they'd change the picture of the charcoal blue gun on that page.  The blue hasn't really looked like that for a long time.  It still looks good but is much darker than in the pic.

What is the US finish?  A higher polish before bluing?

The U.S. Finish is regarding the frame and hammer.  The guns are disassembled in Texas and the frames sent to be case-hardened with the traditional method of bone meal charcoal.  Used to send them to Turnbull for this but they have been using Classic Guns for some years now.  The blue is either standard or charcoal blue, whatever came from Italy.

I ordered mine a little less than a year ago and in natural outside light has the same hue as the one pictured.

I admit I am biased to that beautiful blue, as it is my favorite shade of color.   ;)

I know, I'm a goofball.....

The Charcoal Blue is beautiful, however is very fragile and not durable. I have had mine re-blued to a deep Colt Blue.

Jim Downing did the engraving, then the piece was re-blued.

I'll see if I can get a pix on soon.
