Newby questions
« on: October 28, 2014, 03:47:54 PM »
I just got a 76, 40-60, made in 1887, it sure looks great next to my 73 (44/40 made in 1882). A couple of questions, of the
nearly 70,000 76's made is there an estimate on how many are still around? Somebody varnished the wood years ago, I'm
not doing anything to it, but how much does that devalue a gun like this. The rear sight is the 1000 yd flip up type'
the slider will not stay up, is there a fix for this, I don't want to break it, I don't know if I'll need it for long range, but I
would like to have it work right.   Other than those two small issues, its all original with a good bore, I'll be getting
loading components and seeing how it shoots   Thanks
