Cowboy 45 Special brass.
« on: October 18, 2014, 03:31:25 PM »
Just wanted to give this one a thumbs up.  Been shooting it a few weeks now, just over a few thousand rounds.

So far all smokeless using WSF and my 45 acp load.  With both 200g and 160g bullets.  Have yet to shoot any of the 255s.

Really like the case.  Nice seal in the chambers and very clean with 45acp weight ball powder charges.  Even the 160g Badman bullets are shooting well.  A little low because of the distinct lack of recoil,  but good groups.   I'm really sold on these cases in my guns (Colts' and USFA guns) as a completion and practice case.

With a lot of help from Widowmaker Hill,  I modified my 1894CBC 45 Colt to cycle the C45S.  Love the case. Love the conversion.   Now I can shoot them in rifle and handgun.   Two matches and it worked perfectly even with wad cutter bullets.

V.G. you've been out of the loop!  Miss Cubbie sold the brass business a while back and the new owners have decided to sell only loaded ammo with this brass.

I wonder if the manufacterer, Starline will sell empty cases?  That is a dumb move and the case can not be patented so what do they think, they own the market on brass and ammo?  Personally I want this brass to mill the front edge of the rim down to make .455 Eley/Colt cases owka: .455 Webley Mark I.  It would eliminate the need to make them out of .45 Colt or .45 Schofield cases.

Who is the proprietor of the brass...ammo...now? If this is a loaded ammo only proposition I will be in contact with Starline shortly to see if the gates can't be opened around this. It's a bogus idea to try and sell loaded ammo only to a group of mostly reloaders....
