1849 Signature colt nipples

    I am working on a Colt signature 1849 pocket for a friend. It needs new nipples. I am getting two differant sizes from Taylor and track of the wolf,and Dixie gun works. Track says 12-24 and Taylor's says its the same size as Bertie's 1851 and 1860 which is a 5.5 x9...... I have to make or order a new nipple wrench also as none of mine will fit the small recess on the 49.  Any suggestions fellers?

The Uberti 49, 51 and 60 all use the same nipple.  12 x 28.  You can get replacements from VTI or get Tresos or Slix.  I made a nipple wrench out of a grade 8 bolt especially for the 49.  Just get the closest size bolt that will almost fit into the recess and then turn down the end a bit and slot it.

   WoooHooo yep its one of those moments. Called Track o the Wolf. Was goin to get tresso but they dont carry em anymore. They are making their own now. So i ordered  the 5.5x9 that they recommended Fit like a glove and were a nicely hardened steel. Number 10,11 and rws 10.75 are a click fit. Awesome work. I also got one of there made in house nipple wrench. Best i have ever had. Nicely made hardened tool steel and fits everything from the 49 pocket to my uberti walker. Nips were $4.99 a piece and the wrench was only $6.99. Sure is good to get a quality made product for a good price for a change.  Thanks Track.
