Jim is some kinda special fellow,
many years ago he made and donated a custom cartridge belt to a friend of mine, who was down somewhat physically and financially.

Know this ...The Tabasco Kid was very grateful to Brazos Jack ...just say'n'

I miss my friend  :'(

Thanks, Camano, . . . thanks, Brazos.

That will make a good looking static display in tihe old leather shop.

Of course, . . . I'll have to drag it down the driveway a couple of times, . . . give it that "used" look.   ::)

May God bless,
Dwight

No need for an 1863 holster now or in the near future, but I do know where to go when the time comes.

I am not sure whether his books, DVDs and other patterns are currently available but all were interesting and some of his techniques were new and refreshing for the holster maker.  I think that HideCrafters did market most of his work but are probably defunct now??

According to Jim (Brazos Jack). From HideCrafters his stuff went to Double K leather. They are no longer carrying his patterns. The book appears to be currently out of print. He is looking for some one to carry his patterns and is currently experimenting with putting his pattern on discs to market himself. He just sent me a disc to give him feed back on with some of his patterns. They are very clear and usable patterns with very detailed instructions. Hopefully he will get his stuff back on the market soon.

Dang it, my ears is ringin'! Hi fellers, been a while.

After Hide Crafters went south for the winter Silver Creek Leather picked up the patterns, some of them anyway. He's not interested in all that I have and I have a boat load of holster and other patterns sitting on the shelf. So, that's why (with a little encouragement from my friends) I put out the first of what I hope to be several discs. This allows Makers to print right from the disc and if in the event the template wears out or gets coffee spilled on it, you have another one. I have posted it on the Leather Classifieds under Misc.

Major, are you telling my Tabasco Kid has left us? I am truly sorry to hear that. We'll all miss him.

Jim

That is a nice representation of a Civil War style holster. Although please note that Civil War holsters were not marked "US". The flap and holster body were two separate pieces. It's a nice pattern though. Thank you for sharing!

Any chance you are doing a cd of the gentlemans wallet, and things like that?
