Need a price check

One of my local gun shops has an Uberti 1873 20" barreled rifle on consignment for $900.  Reasonable?  No dents/dings in the wood, barrel blue is 100%, looks like it's been shot some but not much.  I did not get a peak into the barrel.  Oh, it's in 44-40.  No short stroke kit, either.  If I were to pick this up, it would be my second 44-40 rifle, so no problems with ammo and I reload.

I live in Virginia, 20 or so miles southwest of DC.  If I didn't just pay $600 for new brakes for the truck I would have this tomorrow.  The last 44-40 I saw in a local shop was the Uberti 1860 I picked up for $695 + tax and fees.  That had been in the rack for over a month.  This might last a little longer there.

From what I have seen out here in Ca, a new Uberti short rifle (1873) runs anywhere from $1200.00 to $1350.00 new. So if is "gently" used, and the barrel looks good, I'd go for it.  W.L.

No, I did not purchase this rifle.  I had to replace the tires and brakes on my truck, which amounted to what they wanted for this rifle.
