1860 Henry Patch
« on: July 04, 2014, 10:45:53 PM »
A while back we found a lovely lady in Florida who made up a batch of patches http://www.cascity.com/forumhall/index.php/topic,35781.0.html

Lately, I have had a few inquiries from members asking about the patches and figured I'd post the info for those who may be interested. Her name is Nancy and her link is:

I don't know if there are pictures of the patch on her site. It was given for contact info.

Getting a patch for an 1860 pattern Henry is a real groan.  It's not too bad if you get a tread blow-out  but the sidewall is a real bugger.
Sidewall blow-outs can ruin your whole day.  Thing to remember  the patch is never as strong as the original material and running it at high speed can be really dangerous.  And ...... If you blow out the patch  well ...... Your just done.  Wall hanger city.  ::)

Sorry guys, give me a couple days and I'll see if I can find out what's up. I know she had to program her machine to produce the patches but that's already done and she should be able to make a run.
I'll update as soon as I can get the info.

;D... and sometimes the 1860 is a tubeless version, so you can use a plug.  I guess this is a plug for a Henry patch  ::)

Got a reply from Miss Nancy:

"you can have them email me at peetyswie@comcast.net or call 941-639-7430.  The price is $15 each."

Email her or give her a call. She does great custom work.

Excellent analogy matt45 it is most certainly a "plug for a patch"

I'm glad you got your patches and are happy with them but Miss Nancy will not see your thank you because she is not a member of this forum. She is just a nice lady who does embroidering and was willing to help us out a few years ago by making some patches for a bunch of us.
I'm guessing that she would be happy to receive a thank you via her email address: peetyswie@comcast.net if you are so inclined.

Henry Patch , that jogged my memory

The last surviving British Tommy of WW1 , Henry Patch was 111 when he passed in 2009.
Imagine that,  born in 19th century, survived the 20th, and passed in the 21st.
