I saw that one... and another just down the page,  with U.S. Pt. F. A. roll engraved  .... very nice finished Uberti.... it was @ $1800+

If Doug could have commanded those prices and got them, me think's he'd still be making them  :-\

Something's definitely wrong with this picture. A Turnbull Open Range just sat on RugerForum for weeks at $1450 before someone bought it.

And the madness continues!  Just saw this one on Gun Broker.  Eleven bidders have run the price up to $3009.00 at the time of this posting.

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=411475939

When introduced around August of '08, this model, designated the "Sheriff's Special," had a MSRP of $875.00.  I purchased one at the time for $839.00 from my local dealer.  The "ivory grips" that the seller has listed are obviously plastic and were standard issue on this model.  I believe that USFA referred to these grips as "US Ivory."  Another standard feature on this model, that the seller neglected to mention, is the elongated cylinder flutes.

Opening bid was $2095 and it sold for $3034. :o

That means that at least two people were willing to spend over three grand on a gun that sold new for less than $875.00

I picked up this Sheriff's model at a local gun show and at the time spent more on it than I had on any other USFA that I had at that time which wasn't many. About 1/3 the price of the one recently sold on GB and I almost didn't buy it at that price. Glad I decided to. This was right about the time they started closing everything down. It doesn't have the Bisley hammer but it is still an exceptional piece.

Lou,
Considering the 3&1/2" barrel, factory stag grips and the CCH hammer, it sounds like you did pretty good.
