Are aperture sights legal for SASS? The reason I'm asking is
http://www.skinnersights.com/henry_rifles_18.html
makes a peep rear sight for the 1860s. Due to the other disciplines I shoot, I'm more used to a rear aperture sight versus the buckhorn rear sight on these lever guns. Just curious.

The sight in the advertisement is not SASS legal.
Tang mounted rear sights may utilize changeable “peep” apertures and eyecups.
• No bolt or receiver mounted sight is permitted.

The one for the 1860 replaces the stock rear sight with the aperture sight. It doesn't go on the receiver, it goes on the barrel. But if the rules state no aperture sights unless tang mounted, I guess this isn't SASS legal. Bummer.
