How about this folks?
If the members that have such frearms as short stroked rifles, and eventually short stroked pistols (yes they are (SASS) starting to short stroke pistols in SASS, we'll be next), and want to shoot them in NCOWS.  How about a semi modern class set up for these modifications just so members can shoot these modern modified firearms? What I mean by semi modern is this, use existing NCOWS firearms rules, pre 1900. You can do anything you want to your firearms in this class, even weld a bipod and spotting scope on it if you want, just as long as it is period correct, or, you can have someone (preferably a friend) hold it for you by the front end while you SHORT STROKE IT.

Costuming? how about rubber cowboy/girl boots, rubber belts and holsters? Lets see, the name could be called the DEVO class, or, better yet the DEVO DOMINATRIX CLASS, you know.....after the punk rock group that wore lamp shades on their heads? That way I think it would satisfy those members that oppose modern mods to pre 1900 period firearms & their replicas', and make a very interesting shooting class to observe Wink I think this would make everyone happy.........What do you think?Huh Even non NCOWS members can reply Wink Wink

I sure didn't think I'd ever see Devo and NCOWS in the same paragraph! Wink

Jeff,
I posted this as tongue in cheek, but if we keep adapting the SASS mentality to NCOWS it may not be far down the road. If you look at some of the clothing you see at end of trail (I've been to six of them), it goes from one extreme to another in SASS. I'd just like to see us (NCOWS) get a handle on it before it is too late.....

Sounds like a great start to an annual, masked Halloween Shoot!! Held at midnight, of course.

Folks,
Glad some of you found it funny, that was my intention.
If the statement with the XXX line in my original post offended anyone, I aplogize, just trying to have a laugh. I personally don't visit any XXX sites, and as I told Joss House after he informed me he removed it, I don't even watch the series Deadwood.  I can honestly say I've seen only the first two episodes of the first season and we don't watch it at my house because it doesn't add to the moral fiber or entertainment value to my family and I think we have enough pornography in the world as it is.......but thats just me.....

To answer Books' question:  Yes, he's a Lifetime SASS member by the name of "Gunzilla" (which is also the name of his shotgun.)

I heard he's a real nice guy and a pretty good gunsmith.

But that outfit (and many others of his) generally fall into the Fantasy/modern range!

Jeff,
Thats exactly what I'm talking about!! Pefect example for the new NCOWS class, we can call it the"DEVO DOMINATRIX SPACE COWBOY SHORT STROKE CLASS"., or DDSCSSC for short, Pink would be a good color, or maybe the princess pattern.....can I get a witness...

You know Bill,

I was just sitting around my cube today thinking "I wish I could be just half as manly as OCB....I think I will go for the Pink Princess Pattern."   Grin Grin

Maybe a pink princes pattern loin cloth.  Historically correct, yet fit for today's comfort.  What do you think?  I think that it would high-light your features....

Just read the whole thread.  Too busy yesterday to browse the board.

Grizz, ya ain't the only one in the dark about Devo.  I don't listen to music recorded after about 1973.

If it is a Modern class, the Gus crease should be MANDATORY!!! Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

This whole thig is a rea hoot!!

Thanks OCB!

Dr. Bob,
I 'm glad you found it funny. I'm going to see if I can get GW or French Jack bring it up before the Congress next month for a vote. Yea, I think your right about the adding the Gus Crease to that class especially if they are plastic and have a neon color. All those using the SS modification can even put a Kevlar or Plastic stock on their Henrys, 66's and 73's in the color of their choice, what do you think?
Oh, what about stiletto heels. Heck, I would pay to see that class shoot. We could have prize money for the "Gamers", and have Rue Paul act as one of the Judges......Cool huh?..... Hey...you know what, I've got this vynil breach clout I picked up In San Francisco in the "70's", but I'll save that story for another time.......

OCB,

I don't want to even imagine you in a vynil breechcloth.  My favorite one is a nice plain blue flannel.  I don't want to see me in it either Roll Eyes  I did some indian dancing while I was an adult leader with my son in Boy Scouts.  I really enjoyed it, but have not been active in Scouts for about 12 years.

I suppose buscadero rigs would be requierd for the modern class as well. Grin Grin  This is just too much fun!!
