I lived with this gun for close to 25yrs with brass tg/bs and hated it every day. I went to EMF and we found a set of tg/bs and grips that were black nickeled and made tor the ASM Dalota. they were not supposed to fit, but they did.

so you can get a set of steel ones or find some already black nickel plated. I never did find anyone that would do it as a small job.

I love the grips on my pistol . They fit my hand perfectly . That is why I was wanting to blacken the back strap . But thanks for the suggestion of replacing. I know Walt at EMF would take care of you , he is a Great guy .

That looks really good, I'll have to trey that. I have an old Armi Jeager (SP?) Single action I use for my GAF shooting, has the brass like that, but other Colt clone grip frames won't fit, frame is shaped different.

Rowdy,

I am curious, how is the brass black solution holding up on your revolver?

Back in the 90's I used aluminum blacking on some brass parts and it did eventually rub off in spots.

So I guess I am wondering if the brass blacking is a better solution.

The nice thing is it can always be darkened when it wears a bit.

It wears pretty good but with lots of use it will need an occasional touch up . But not yet .
