Shooting my Trapdoor
« on: March 11, 2014, 08:16:52 AM »
Hello. I am new to BROW and just wanted to share my excitement about getting into another form of shooting. Our NCOWS posse is moving to a new range in 2014 and in addition to a 50 yard main range, we will have access to a 300 yard range. Several of us will be participating in longer range matches with buffalo guns. I picked up a nice 1884 trapdoor and just took it out for test run. It seems to be a mighty fine rifle.

Black powder rifles are addicting.  You may as well make room in your safe for a High Wall, Sharps (1874, 1875 and 1877 models), Rolling Block and a Stevens.  Of course, several calibers of each!   ;D

I have had my eye on a high wall but I was offered a good deal on the Springfield and went with that instead. I think the high wall is still somewhere in my future.
