Need prayer again.
« on: January 13, 2014, 11:28:31 PM »
Hi y'all.  One of my best friend's grandfather is in a bit of a predicament.  He was just diagnosed this afternoon with a very aggressive form of cancer in his bladder.  In response, he has opted for surgery to remove it.  The problem is, the doctors are saying that he likely won't come out of the surgery.  He has had several other surgeries put off due to his poor overall health.  What this is equating to is, he could die next week of surgery, or he could survive another ten years.  It's in the hands of the Almighty.  My friend is taking it kind of hard, as is the rest of her family.   :-\

My neighbor is 81 and she had her bladder removed 2 yrs. ago. She's doing fine. She was also nervous about surviving the surgery as she has a host of other problems. Everything turned out fine for her.

Good luck and best wishes for success for your friend's grandpa.

Thanks all.  I was talking to my friend over facebook, and she said that they are all praying hard, even her dad, who isn't a man given to prayer.  They seem to be reconciled to the fact now, but geez....
On the bright side, they got to see him at Christmas.  The Lord has a plan.  All we can do wait and pray.

One of the newest members to our community is a bladder cancer survivor. I'm also a cancer survivor. Both of us attribute our recovery to a lot of prayer and a positive attitude.

It is a disease, not a death sentence for most. We are all going to die sooner or later - preferably the latter, but there is really no good time to go. We are all living on borrowed time and need to learn how to become comfortable with that.

The only prayer I could make on my own behalf was - "Lord, I've had a good life. Cure me or kill me." Sounds morbid, but it wasn't.
He chose to cure me, along with some very good medical help. I'm grateful.

Good evening all.  I'm pleased to tell you that he survived the operation yesterday without a hitch, and is recovering fine.  They put the chemo strait into the bladder, which causes some minor inconvenience in using the restroom, but he is experiencing no abnormal discomfort otherwise.

Thank you all for the prayers.
