The flu shot is their best guess at what flu will be going around the most this year.

Never had a flu shot, never had the flu.  I have an inherent distrust for doctors and for the chemicals that they like to inject into people.

I'm right there with you Camille, everytime i go to my doc i leave there with a list of prescriptions and his wife is a drug rep.you should see the food drug reps take to the doctors offices alot of times it's sandwiches from a great sandwich maker here in town, but they get Tahoe Joes alot and other good resteruants and i'm here eatin beannie weinnies and babysittin! ;D

That's what makes me wonder, they say too many antibiotics being used but they advertise that flu shot like crazy! They never gave people LSD either back in the 70s sneakin it into food and drink either.  :(

Flu shots kinda like voting in Chicago, go early and often.  I get mine every year in October or so when they first come out.  They are free at work.  If you are around old folks and babies, is a great idea to get the flu shot just so you don't give the virus to someone.

My wife's first cousin was given a 100% disability check and check out from USMC, . . . they actually admitted that it was most likely an allergic reaction to the swine flu shot he got there in basic.

All was well until that shot, . . .

Obviously, very, very few people would have that type of reaction, . . . but it happens.

I'm 69, . . . above room temperature, . . . and don't plan on ever having another flu shot.  That may change when all timers takes over for some timers, . . . but not if I can decipher the choice.

The freedom and authority to make our own personal decisions, . . . that is what this country is all about.

May God bless,
Dwight

I got one last (2013) Flu season , and I got mild symptoms, but nothing like full blown flu.

I've yet to get one this year, but will when I see my Doc. this Month, for my bi-yearly kick the tires check

Up-date  got mine last week , they also recommended a one time Pneumonia vac ..which I also got....
week later and NADA ...

One person's experience = anecdotal.

10,000 or 100,000 or 1,000,000 people's experiences = epidemiological evidence.

There are people who smoke 2 packs of cigarettes a day and don't get lung cancer or emphysema or heart disease = anecdotal. There are non-smokers who get lung cancer = anecdotal. When you look at the entire USA population of over 300,000,000 people, smokers get lung cancer at 11 times the rate of non-smokers = epidemiological evidence.

In the period 1918 to 1919, it has been estimated that 20-40 million people died in the Great Flu Pandemic around the world. The estimate for the United States alone is that 675,000 died. The latest flu strains have been very virulent. Thank goodness so many people in the U.S.A. have taken the shots or the death rates would be much higher nowadays.
When I work in China, Nepal, India or Africa, I read about the huge number of flu related deaths. When I am home, I run to get the latest flu shot.

How are you feeling, Sir Richard Mysfyre?   My bet was on a food related issue. :(
