keeping your eyes open

Gents

I am A Fellow & charter member of not for profit.... http://museumofmilitaryhistory.com/

We cover all periods ( photos ) and I'm in the process of some re-aligning some exhibits.

I'm working on the CW era and doing an exhibit that will showcase Confederate arms, course I have some original pieces.

But I need a replica Spiller & Burr  ... the project is two-fold  the exhibit and an article ....

I have my eye on one for sale ( I'll see where that goes ) but budget ( non-profit remember) is snug and it could bid up out of reach...

So perhaps someone has a Spiller & Burr that they would part with ( state price )  :)

Major 2,

I can't help you with a Spiller & Burr, but I may have some reproductions I have either altered or custom built up from repro parts.
E-mail or call me with your specific needs or wants.
I maybe able to offer you some unusual goodies on a "loan" basis. This may help offer a greater display element without exceeding your budget?
My best,
Blair

P UK,

Thank you for your kind thoughts/words.
But, I have worked in the Historical Museum industry for a number of years. I know and understand the budget restrictions all to well.
For me, it is better to offer them up for display or show and tell than having them collecting dust setting in a corner.
My best,
Blair

Blair & I had a nice conversation, I have posted the kind gesture to the Curator...they have some planning to figure.

The Snider & Glascock will help and thanks ...but I still need a Spillar & Burr rather badly....

If you would like me to forward these on to you as they come in, send me a request to fourfingersofdeath@hotmail.com

Some internal work was performed , mostly to relieve the Pietta Bolt for perfect lockup and some smoothing and lightening of springs

a trip to the range & an article for NCOWS Shootist ...it now rests in a Display at Museum of Military History , Kissimmee, FL

Thanks for the interesting update, Major

since this is for your local museum, after defarbing, did you mark it in some way ( ie under the grips) or leave the date codes or some such?
