Side by side
lower is a Uberti circa - 1999
Middle is the new HRA Henry 2013
upper is the iron frame Uberti - 2007
First impression is Henry Repeating Arms has hit a Home run....
I will save most of my comments for my side by side shooting to be written for the Shootist....
Visually, they are nearly identical
but here are some observations
The HRA has slightly shorter & thicker comb, the stock is heaver than the Uberti at this same point...
I believe you can see it in the photo....
There is an advantage here as the heaver stock balances the HRA and I feel it points better than the rather muzzle heavy Uberti,
Which I am completely used to, so I noticed right away
Barrel measures identical to the Uberti @ 24" , Lever throw is also nearly Identical ( keep in mind this is 44/40 and the Uberti's are both 45 Colt ) Action on the HRA is NIB stiff but smooth , no hitches , I'll know better how it feeds at the range.
I will be comparing the HRA 44/40 with my Uberti 44/40 at the range ( as well as these two 45's ) at the moment the 44/40 is not available for today's photo's.
The HRA has square notch in it's rear sight and slightly thicker German front sight, the sight picture is very nice.
The OEM Uberti's have a V rear notch and for these older eyes out of the box, the HRA has a better sight picture.
SO far.... Thumbs UP !
